Adaption Clinker Production Process
Due to the chemical and physical diviations on primary fuels an assessment and an adaptation of the clinker process is recommended to make full use of AFR.
Even for high thermal substitution rates (TSR) it becomes necessary to adapt or modify the process. For example to increase TSR to the calciners limit it is worthwhile to feed coarse HCF < 300 mm directly to the “PREPOL - Step combustor”.
To over-come bottlenecks of operating stability caused by the plant´s raw material or AFR quality a kiln bypass system might be helpful.
The desired increase in TSR should be a good reason to assess and analyze the plant´s bottlenecks. All this is part of the total FuelTrack service package.
Based on the technical prerequisites adopted techniques for the RDF use in pre-calciners and SRF in the main burners will be presented, mainly featuring an intelligent fuel mix management, additional measures such as mechanical or thermal pre-treatment by the Step Combustor.
The Step Combustor is designed for the safe burnout of coarse and individual slow-reacting alternative fuels like coarse HCF < 300 mm. Particles remain up to 15 minutes retention time without any mechanical moving parts.
