Handling & Dosage
The fuel handling to feed calciner or the kiln burner consists of truck receiving and unloading station, an appropriate storage system, safety equipment and controlled transport to the calciner and/or main burner.
Dosing and pneumatic transport is possible for both feeding points, but a safety screen or an air classifier are mandatory in the total process line, even for the main burner quality, to avoid blockages or negative impacts on the combustion.
For the calciner feeding it is not recommended since the pneumatic transport needs more energy, has more wear and needs extra care for fuel cleaning, eliminating heavy and oversize particles.
Processed fuels not going directly from treating to the kiln need truck transport and subsequently truck unloading at the plant site. The shown Truck Unloading Station (TULS) works dust- and spillage-free without the need for a separate dedusting system. Unloading capacities up to 350 m³/h are possible. It takes moving-floor as well as tipping truck trailers.
For handling within the cement plant and for inclination the completely enclosed chain conveyor with protected chain design is a good and suitable choice.
For longer distances up to 300 m the totally enclosed, air supported transport with or without standardised simple steel support the VecoBelt is a best choice.
