After assessing the technical potential of the kiln system and the chemistry of waste as a feedstock the physical behavior has to be prepared for a neutral utilization in the following production process.

Pre-treatment of waste to alternative fuel

At the first treating step is to separate the High Caloric Fraction (HCF) with a grain size of max. 300 mm out of solid waste coming from municipalities or industry.

In the next step this HCF will be treated to the Residue Derived Fuel (RDF) with a grain size of max. 80 mm just for feeding a proper designed calciner.

So far it is clear that for the main burner it is a must to have a good processed and quality monitored Solid Recoverd Fuel (SRF) in a grain size less than 25 mm.
